We set off on our Spring vacation a couple of weeks ago, hitting the road and heading north to a few different Northern California destinations. With three distinct vacation spots on the itinerary, it made for a very long-feeling ten days away--but in a good way. This photo was taken the second morning of the trip, after overnighting at the lovely America's Best Value Inn in stimulating Los Banos, CA along the 5 freeway--we just had to break up the long drive for the kids. Parker was so happy to feel like he had a job to do to get ready for vacation--he packed up his Lego backpack with whatever he chose to bring--legos (of course), books, plastic glow-in-the-dark spiders, his three stuffed animals that he sleeps with, and a rattle for Levi. He loved walking around the house with his backpack on as we packed up to leave--he looked like quite the adventurer. The same backpack was stuffed full of souvenirs upon his return home.
