Patches

I finally got most of Levi's patches sewn on his fleece, just in time for our next adventure! Hopefully we will return home with a new patch or two :)

Helmet Lasers...or Horns?

I love the things boys will think up when left to their own devices...and I love to see these two boys having fun and playing together. Like some deranged scooter gang.

Baywatch Babe

Parker took the helm during a recent outing on Mission Bay.

Harbor Bike Ride

There's a little patch of undeveloped bluff in the harbor where we ride our bikes to sometimes when we just need to get outdoors real quick.

Graduation!

Walking to school hand-in-hand with Daddy and Levi this morning

Finding their places on the stage--Parker is on the far right

He's actually got a hint of a smile in there--he didn't seem too nervous today, I think he actually had some fun singing their songs!

Getting ready to sing--that whole right side of the stage is Parker's class; there were three classes total at this ceremony

An intro from the principal, then four or five super cute songs

The teachers announced the names of each student in their class, then posed for a picture together--there must have been almost 100 kids! So it took some patience on every body's part.

Parker's "official" graduation portrait, taken about a month or so ago--they sure sucker you with all of these cute portraits!

Thanks to Ian and Krista, the boys got to enjoy some pretty decadent ice cream sandwiches and bars in the back yard afterwards! And we had the most beautiful, sunny day that we've had in at least a week. Now one and a half more days of school, and it is officially SUMMER!

Haircut

Parker looking all handsome and ready for his kindergarten graduation!

Done!

I finally finished my picnic quilt that I started about a year ago! And just in time for summer, too. Technically, the whole thing is a total mess--nothing is square, the seams aren't straight, and my thread tension was off for about 60% of the quilting. BUT, the patterns are so busy that you really can't tell unless you look closely. It's been a great exercise in "good enough" for me. I can totally embrace the truth that I just don't have the time, patience, or skills to keep working on this to make it any more "right" or "better"--if I don't just stop now and call it done, we may never have a picnic on this quilt!
I love the looks of it despite all of its flaws, and my only hope is that it actually is used, loved, and appreciated. It's a big relief to finally have a big project finished and useable--I have so many projects planned that I now have renewed hope and motivation that they may in fact get done someday, too!

Out to Sea

Jared and Parker went fishing out of Oceanside yesterday morning. They had an exciting dolphin encounter, and Parker caught his first calico bass and barracuda!
