Dana Point Headlands

It's a Prindle!

Aunt Krista painted this awesome onesie for Levi. I was pretty excited when I realized that he can fit into it now, I love it!

Happy Easter!

Parker really enjoyed Easter this year--it all started on the Thursday before with an Easter party at school. Then he woke up on Easter morning to another egg hunt in our backyard--he had a lot of fun looking for plastic eggs that were filled with simple little treats--tattoos, chocolate chips, quarters. I'm really glad that we managed to get our act together this year and at least set up a simple egg hunt. We continued the day with brunch in Mission Bay with our family, then a short bike ride for Parker, and then home to spend some time unwinding and playing with all of his new Easter presents. At the end of the day, Parker even said, "Ooof. This was a good Easter!" It will be fun hiding eggs for Levi, too, next year!

Easter Brunch

Holy Buddha Baby!

We enjoyed a delicious Easter Brunch at the Hyatt in Mission Bay again this year. It was a beautiful morning and lots of fun to get together with family on the Bay!

Easter Party Recap

Parker had an Easter Party at preschool today, and he was as talkative as ever when I picked him up afterwards...I always love it when he wants to share all sorts of details about his school day with me on the way home. I also loved that he was still wearing his bunny ears when I picked him up. His school is off for spring break next week, and I'm really gonna miss having those precious six hours "to myself" (sort of)! :)

It sounded like a good idea at the time...

A line growth chart is actually more boring than it sounds. Here's Parker's just in case you didn't believe me.

Casual Tuesday

This one is for Auntie Em! She gave Levi this cute onesie before he was born. It's his first time wearing a tie, and his first time wearing jeans! What a big boy. Time to go to the office.

Garden Gnome

It was such a beautiful afternoon in Dee's garden that I wanted to prop Levi up in all of the different plants and take pictures of him like a little traveling garden gnome! But I was afraid that he'd eventually end up tipping over while I wasn't watching him properly, and he was so eager to put everything in his mouth that I kept wondering exactly which plants might have poisonous foliage...He was SO curious and intrigued by all of the plants and objects--he loved feeling the different textures of everything, and was so totally focused on looking at and touching everything within sight that I couldn't get him to look at me for a single photo. What a great place for him to learn about life!

Sitting Up!

Levi is getting pretty good at sitting up these days...although you can't leave his side yet, because he always ends up tipping over sooner or later! Actually, I was pretty afraid that he was going to tip off this bench that I set him on for this photo op in Dee's garden. I bet that by the end of his fifth month he'll have it all figured out. He is much happier when he can sit up and play with a toy--he is pretty squirmy and usually doesn't want to be held, doesn't want to lay down, and doesn't want to sit in his car seat. This is the moment he has been waiting for...until he decides it's time to skip crawling and go right for running!

Weekend update.

On Saturday we dropped off both kids at Mimi's house and rushed over to Seaforth in Mission Bay to rent a "real" boat. Well not to belittle our wonderful "Lil P" but we did want to try out something bigger. We rented a Catalina 250 (25') and took it out of the harbor on what turned out to be a perfect sailing day. The wind was between 5-10 kts and the sun was out the whole time. We both got to share sailing duties and felt comfortable quickly. After our 2 hrs messing around we sailed downwind right into a smooth landing at the dock. Easy...fun...might do it again with family? Any takers?

Then on Sunday evening we made a dinner and brought it to the cliffs on the beach in Carlsbad. Despite a cold wind we all had fun. Well, Levi slept through it all but the rest of us enjoyed a cold dinner and a cold breazy view.

Brushing Teeth

Making Faces

Parker isn't a big fan of having his picture taken--I guess all those times we shoved the camera in his face and begged him to do something adorable since the day he was born have backfired on us a bit. However, one of the best ways to get him to agree to have his photo taken is to tell him to make a silly or crazy face--hence the many photos that we have of him doing something a lot like this:

p.s. Wow, he really does have an Eddie Munster haircut right now...geesh. No one knows what to do when it comes to cutting the front of his hair...can't wait till it grows out a bit!

Some fun on Lil P

here's a video I made of a short sail the day after the Japanese Tsunami. It was a lovely day although not quite enough wind for my tastes.
