Some Family Pics

So, I'll bring our Spring 2011 travelogue to a close here...so many pictures to choose from, so many good memories. We're not sure where our next vacation will take us, but I'm sure we'll start itching to hit the road again soon. We just might make it back to Yosemite this winter for some snow play and hot chocolate in the Ahwahnee dining room! Anyone want to join us?

Easter Brunch

Holy Buddha Baby!

We enjoyed a delicious Easter Brunch at the Hyatt in Mission Bay again this year. It was a beautiful morning and lots of fun to get together with family on the Bay!

Evening in the Harbor

We capped off the weekend with a perfectly lovely evening in the harbor. Parker has been really enjoying riding his trike lately, and the sidewalk in the harbor is a good place for him to ride and for us to walk. We spontaneously tried a new (to us) restaurant for a Happy Hour dinner--I couldn't believe that after living here for eight years we had never eaten there before! They had outdoor seating upstairs with warm heaters and pretty, white lights and a fantastic view of the harbor. We enjoyed fish tacos and clam chowder and Pacificos; it was a perfect way to end the day and the weekend.

Point Loma Lighthouse

We went for a great walk around the Point Loma Light House at Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego with Dee and Niki last weekend. The weather was a little chilly, but the views from the point out there of San Diego, the harbor, and the ocean are incredible. Parker did a pretty good job on the walk (he's never been much of a "hiker"), with only a few complaints about hunger along the way; Levi slept in the front pack almost the whole time. Parker held onto a magnifying glass the whole way, although he's still figuring out how to actually use it :)

Grandma Margaret Steg (Sanderson)

One of my many as-yet unrealized goals/dreams is to create a genealogy book for our family, including both sides of our families--Jared's and mine--as far back as possible, with photos and stories and information about everyone. I really want to start working on this, but it feels a little overwhelming, and I'm not quite sure how to organize it or approach the project. But, here is a really cool photo that I scanned recently of my grandma on my dad's side, Margaret, probably in Chicago.

Family!

Our Montana family is here visiting for Christmas--my brother Ian, his wife Krista, and their ten-month old son Forest. We only get to see them about once or twice a year, so this is a real treat. Forest seemed super excited to see another little kid to play with, and Parker remembers everyone from our visit to Montana this summer, so he was thrilled to see them again without needing any "warm up period" at all!
