Beep Beep Honk Honk

We heard Levi say "beep beep honk honk" to himself one night as he rolled around in his crib talking to himself while trying to fall asleep. It sounded so cute and funny, and now he knows that all he has to do is say "beep beep honk honk" (or some variation thereof), and we will find him the funniest little baby in the whole world. Something about the way he says "honk honk," the way that it lacks most of the actual sounds of the word, is just hilarious every time.

Backyard Surfers

This is Parker and Levi's favorite thing to do these days. Neither of them can get enough, and falling off is just part of the fun. Unfortunately, the two of them are  a pretty heavy load to pull together! Now we just need to transfer these skills to some waves and to a snowy hill!

Mister Crazy Smiles

Levi is a happy kid. He smiles and laughs all the time, and seems to be developing quite the sense of humor. He loves smiling at strangers, and the more they smile back at him, the more he smiles and smiles and smiles. He's got this one particular smile, though, that he likes to do at dinner time...he looks back and forth from Jared to me and grins the hugest, goofiest grin that he can manage with his whole face. The more we laugh at him, the bigger his smile gets (if that's possible) and the longer he stares at us with his squinty eyes and scrunched-up nose and crooked mouth. He just seems so pleased with himself, and loves all of the attention...

Parker took a break from bike riding in Dana Point a couple of weekends ago to shake some somersaults out...

A Mere Six Months Ago...

Jared and I were just looking through old photos on my computer, and came across this gem. Had to share it again...don't know whether to laugh or cry...

Lil' Goofball

Levi is so silly. He loves getting a reaction out of us, and will copy or repeat anything that makes us laugh. He went through about a week-long phase where he made this silly straining sound/face...it cracked us up, but we were also afraid that he might explode.

Levi's Silly Sound

Levi is starting to do things with much more intention--for example, this is one of his favorite things to do. He will copy us if we do it, but he usually starts it first :) I think he thinks it's pretty funny...he's right.

Someone Needed a Little Attention...

Usually, Parker wants nothing to do with being photographed these days. However, seeing me spend too much time trying to take some pictures of Levi this afternoon must have struck a chord in him, because he started begging me to take pictures of him instead, and I got him to make a ton of funny faces for me (although, what's new there). 

Making Faces

Parker isn't a big fan of having his picture taken--I guess all those times we shoved the camera in his face and begged him to do something adorable since the day he was born have backfired on us a bit. However, one of the best ways to get him to agree to have his photo taken is to tell him to make a silly or crazy face--hence the many photos that we have of him doing something a lot like this:

p.s. Wow, he really does have an Eddie Munster haircut right now...geesh. No one knows what to do when it comes to cutting the front of his hair...can't wait till it grows out a bit! 

That's What Big Brothers Are For

Ah, yes--let's dress up the baby and make him look funny! He can't fight back! Ha ha ha! Parker was pretty happy when I found this pirate mask buried in the closet from his first birthday party; I guess he wanted to include Levi in the fun, because he had me make a "mask" for him, too--I think Parker said Levi was supposed to be something like a "spooky skeleton baby" or something along those lines...I guess Levi should just get used to this!

Laundry Day

I was trying to sort our massive mountain of laundry one day, and turned around to find this...not exactly what you would call being "Mommy's helper"!! No wonder I never seem to get anything done around here :)

Cool Guy

Wow. Parker was really feelin' it this morning! It's been fun having daddy home--he was a key component in this silliness. Parker is making his "tough guy" face in these shots; he absolutely loves these old pink sunglasses of mine--he calls them his "cool guy" glasses--he really thinks he looks so cool in them! 

Nighttime Shenanigans

This is why I can never go to bed at night without checking on Parker first!! Sometimes he has a really hard time falling asleep at night, so (after many, many other stalling tactics) he will eventually just bop around in his room by himself fairly quietly for a while...I'm never really sure what he does in there, I can just hear that he's not asleep yet. Well, this is the scene that I found one night as I checked on him before I went to bed! Good thing I checked on him and tucked him back into bed, or else he may have woken up pretty sore in the morning!
