Thank you to Dee for finding this very special patch to add to Levi's jacket!

In the Pool
This was the first day that Levi has worn these water wings in the pool, and he loved it! While I don't want him to come to rely on floaties, but would rather that he learns to swim on his own, it's so nice to be able to play at the pool without worrying about him falling in or having to hold him in the water myself the whole time. He absolutely loves to play in the water, and this helps make that happen. He's also making a ton of progress with getting comfortable getting his ears wet, he lays down in the bath tub all the time now and thinks he's so cool. Great progress towards swimming!
In the Ocean
This was the first time that Parker has ever ducked under a wave (while Jared was holding him)--it was unexpected but necessary, and happily Parker came out of it really well! He wasn't too thrilled at first, but then ducked under some whitewater waves on the shore soon afterwards just to practice again.
Date Night
Thanks to Grammy and Grampa for having the boys over for an overnight--not only did they have fun, but we got to have a date night, too! Jared and I kayaked out to the jetty in the harbor, had a picnic dinner on the rocks while watching the sunset (and watching flames from the fires on Camp Pendleton at the time), paddled out to the seal buoy in the dark, went lobster spotting along the rocks in the harbor, and headed out again after midnight to see the grunion run on the beach by the pier! I don't think I've stayed up that late in years ;)
Jared was super excited to see this shovel nose (?) shark.
Play Ball!
We've had a lot of fun enjoying the Padres at Petco Park this season!
Sunglasses give away day!
Parker has always had amazing hitting and pitching skills, ever since he was really little, and he is getting more and more inspired to play baseball! He and Levi and Jared went down the street to the ball field by our house, and Jared said Parker literally hit 48 out of 50 pitches. He came home so excited, and said he'd like to try playing little league this year. Thanks to Mimi for outfitting him in this awesome baseball get-up!
Levi of course wants in on the action, too, and is also really good at hitting and throwing! He has been yearning for his own hard bat for a long time, so Mimi got him set up with his own bright orange bat!

Before Levi's first buzz cut!
So handsome!!
Levi surprised me by putting his own sunscreen on one day...

This must have been on one of our hot 100 degree days!

Night Fishing
We found a secret little spot on the docks to fish, and we had lots of success with some frozen squid that Jared bought for bait. Both nights this weekend we ate dinner at a picnic table at the harbor and then fished until 9:30! Late nights for both boys, but lots of fun...luckily (?) a giant seal chased us off the docks before we stayed waaaaay too late last night. Parker caught seven fish the first night and then caught a few more last night with just a hand line. Jared was surprised by how many little calico bass there are living in the harbor's rocks.
