Easter: A Retrospective

Levi is learning how to write some of his letters, and he's almost got his name down. In fact, Parker is the one who taught him how to write the letter P, and he's great at it! 

Ta-da!

Strawberries!

Grammy took the boys strawberry picking at the fields in Carlsbad--same place that we took Parker to when he was about Levi's age! That time, Parker seemed to eat as many berries as he picked. This time, both boys filled up their buckets with super duper yummy, ripe strawberries. They are really delicious--and now I need to decide on some strawberry recipes to make tomorrow so I can use them up while they're still fresh! I think I'll make at least one jar of simple jam to use this week...perhaps a strawberry pie or tart as well?

It's Pool Time!...Almost.

The pool at Grammy and Grampa's condo isn't being heated yet, but that's not gonna stop Parker! Unfortunately, he's the only one in the family willing to swim in the cold water, so the rest of us are sitting it out for now! Actually, Levi really wants to get in too, but there aren't any grown-ups willing to brave the chilly waters with him yet!

Petting Zoo!

This is Levi's Spring Break from preschool, so I wanted to do some special, fun things with him. Grammy and I took him to the Zoomars petting zoo in San Juan Capistrano--we took the Amtrak up there years ago with Mimi and Parker when Parker was about two. Levi loved feeding the animals, especially the bunnies and guinea pigs. I was a big fan of the real piggies myself! We ate lunch at an outdoor cafe afterwards in the Los Rios historic district, which in itself is a really beautiful place and deserves another trip back just to walk around and admire the beautiful flowers and buildings! More adventures to ensue this week :)
