Night Fishing

We found a secret little spot on the docks to fish, and we had lots of success with some frozen squid that Jared bought for bait. Both nights this weekend we ate dinner at a picnic table at the harbor and then fished until 9:30! Late nights for both boys, but lots of fun...luckily (?) a giant seal chased us off the docks before we stayed waaaaay too late last night. Parker caught seven fish the first night and then caught a few more last night with just a hand line. Jared was surprised by how many little calico bass there are living in the harbor's rocks.

Catching Up: Beach Time

It's been so long since I've updated the blog (sorry!) that I've got quite the backlog of photos to get up. I'll start with these:

We spent several evenings at the beach when we were having our 100 degree heat wave and all of the fires...it felt so good to cool off.

Parker is having so much fun playing in the waves! This is going to be a big summer for both boys--they're both getting much more comfortable in the water.

Garage Sale!

We had a very successful garage sale this weekend! I'm already looking around the house trying to figure out what else we can get rid of! The boys did a good job selling limes from our tree--it's a good time to take advantage of the lime shortage ;) 

On the Water

We got out on the water in the harbor this weekend to enjoy the tail end of our hot weather. We all went for a fun swim off one of the beaches that is uncovered during low tide, and both boys rode on front of our kayaks on their tummies and "helped" us paddle. I loved seeing how comfortable they both are on the water--I'm pretty sure Levi would have fallen asleep up there if we were out long enough.

We had a full weekend--garage sale, kayaking, house work, beach time, roasting marshmallows, movie time. Here's evidence of a great couple of days.
